Canon OC Suitability: N/A
Powers/Nerfing:
SIGHT: The ability to see visions of a person’s past, present or future through touch. Whether he touches them or touches something of sentimental value to them with his bare hands. These visions come in the form of images, sounds, smells, and even memories from the other person. The more concrete the images, the more they feel like he’s watching high-def television, the more Certain that this future is what will happen. To nerf this, I would say he’s not allowed to have any visions pertaining directly to the game lore/information without mod permission. There is already a player opt-in for his abilities, but I would agree to nerf this further if necessary. The Focal Stone he uses will also not work for anything game lore/information-related without permission.
ENHANCED SENSES: As a deer Anima, he has heightened senses. Enhanced sense of smell, enhanced hearing, and his skin is rather sensitive so it can feel the shifts in the wind easily. I would not think this needs nerfing.
MAGICAL COMPATIBILITY: Due to having natural magic abilities, Ulari is compatible with performing less standardized forms of magic, although he’s never attempted to do so himself outside of random tricks at parties. He once cast a group spell with some people during an orgy to basically give everyone a sex high but that’s about the extent of it. He can also do standard magic such as healing, making something cold or hot to drink, but his skills are rather outdated after years of not bothering to use it. I would say he has the potential to increase his compatibility with the Restorian magic, but not without a lot of training and study. So currently his magic compatibility only works for magic of his own world or magic that is similar to his world.
House: Cloud or Stone
Inventory: Clothes, Focal Stone (a necklace he wears has a small purple stone on it that he can use to increase his focus while using his Sight), Hair Care items.
INTERVIEW
Some time after arrival, after all has been explained and your character is given time to think and explore, your character is led to a verdant, foliage-filled room by a soft-spoken Sentinel of indeterminate gender, clad in a heavy robe that obscures their face. Once both have taken a seat between two lush ferns, the Sentinel asks the following questions. They come one after the other, offering no commentary or encouragement at any point during their strange interview. If given answers that are too vague or too brief, the Sentinel will simply wait in compelling silence for elaboration; it is clear they are waiting for the why as well as the what.
Although the Sentinel's eyes are not visible in the shadow of their hood, there is an unsettling feeling of being intensely watched throughout.
"Tell me about your world."
Such a strange question. Not due to the nature of it mind you, I’m sure it’s perfectly pertinent. [He waves a dismissive hand as he leans back in his chair a bit more.] I find it strange as you don’t often consider how to describe your “world” as if others whom never been there before might understand… I was never much of a fan of all that otherworldly science fiction.
[He’s quiet for a moment and then sits forward, rubbing his hands together.]
All right, so…I come from the planet Celest, on the continent of Avari, by way of the Rubix Republic. It’s a simple world, I’d say. We have our technology, although it’s not the same as you do here. Speed rails and air pods and airships are the best forms of travel, although they have been developing Trench Travel recently, not that I’m sure how that’s going to turn out. Traveling underwater at those depths seems a waste of resources...
[He stops himself before he goes off on a casual tangent, holding up a finger as if to remind himself.]
We can get into that later if you like. But yes, the technology of Rubex and other nations of on Avari have so many similarities to yours…yet they have developed is so many different ways. How interesting. I’ve never traveled to Quintex or Apex, but those seem about the same. There are…a variety of people who live on these continents. There are the Anima, such as myself, humans, and then the Lythirians and Vampi—sorry, I mean Ikorians, and those Fae people. Then tend to keep to themselves are maintain lower profiles in the nations at large. In rain or shine or dead of night, with no words to give it sway; prejudice always finds a way, as they say.
"What is your role in your universe?"
My role? Why, I’m a simple financial advisor. People send me their information and I provide them potential options they can invest in to help their portfolios. It’s allowed me a very comfortable lifestyle.
"How did you find your place?"
I spent many years in the business world myself, having assisted my parents in our family’s ventures. But that life wasn’t as fulfilling as it once was after a while, so my close friend suggested I change the nature of my involvement. I decided to switch to remote work and it’s been much better for me. I can live my life and provide advice at my own pace, rather than dealing with all of the judgmental and unscrupulous machinations of the business world.
"What do you fear?"
Fear? Financial fall out, although that’s what insurance clauses are for. The end of the world does sound like it should be rather scary, but it’s such a grand and nebulous notion to wrap your mind around, isn’t it?
"Who or what is dearest to you?"
Ah…well, my family. Of course. Then there’s, Vezra, my dearest friend. [He laughs for a moment.] Vez is quite the personality, always thinking of new get-rich-quick ventures. Sometimes they even work.
"Will you help our cause?"
I’ve chosen to stay, so yes it would seem. [He gives a little shrug.] The end of everything isn’t really something that works for where I am in my life, so I may as well help to not end it.
"Should you stay, you are given a choice of spiritual path: the House of Cloud, or the House of Stone. Have you made your decision?"
House of Stone is rather intriguing, but I’m not sure I enjoy the idea of living underground. And that library… Yes, House of Cloud, it is.
